Harmony Heights Welcomes Therapy Dog Willow
Welcome, Willow!
January 28th was a very special day at Harmony Heightsโwe officially welcomed Willow, our new therapy dog, on her first day at school!
Students and staff had the opportunity to meet Willow during a wonderful assembly led by her trainer, Caroline Waldman from Click for a Treat, where we learned about therapy dogs, how to care for them, and how they can support mental health and well-being.
Weโre so grateful to our amazing P.E. teacher Wendy Tobin, who helped guide Willow through her training, and to our Clinical Service Supervisor Kathy Brammer, who will be Willowโs daily companion here at Harmony.
Weโll be sharing more soonโincluding photos, video highlights, and an inside look at the powerful impact therapy dogs can have on students navigating anxiety, trauma, and school refusal.
For now, help us give Willow a warm Harmony welcome!
Harmony Heights Introduces Music Therapy Program
Harmony Height is thrilled to announce the official launch of our Music Therapy Program!
Led by Alex Timoshenko from The Music Academy for Special Learners, these weekly sessions offer our students the healing power of musicโevery Friday during Periods 6โ8. Music therapy is a powerful tool for improving emotional expression, reducing anxiety, and boosting overall mental well-beingโand we couldnโt be more excited to bring it to Harmony Heights!
A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the incredible team at Ramonaโs Gift to Music, who have generously donated all of the instruments for this program. We are especially grateful to Co-founders John Mangione and Michael Cuellar for their kindness and continued support of our mission.
Weโre delighted to see (and hear!) the joy, creativity, and healing that this program brings to our students. Let the music begin!

Comprehensive
Therapeutic Support
At Harmony Heights, we provide a nurturing and therapeutic environment designed to support the emotional well-being of our students. Our dedicated team of social workers and school psychologists offers both individual and group counseling, ensuring that each student receives the personalized care they need.
Our school also features a therapy dog, providing comfort and companionship to help students navigate their emotions in a gentle and supportive way. With a small, welcoming environment, we create a space where students feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow both emotionally and academically.
Academics and Activities
Harmony Heights provides a New York State Regents diploma program in a therapeutic, small-class setting, ensuring each student receives personalized support. With classes of no more than 12 students, certified teachers and aides create a learning environment tailored to individual needs. Students work closely with their guidance counselor to build their schedules, receive transitional counseling for college and career planning, and have access to a variety of enriching activities. From Book Club and Yearbook to community service projects, prom, and field trips, students are encouraged to explore their interests, build confidence, and prepare for their future.
Celebrating 52 Years
Harmony Heights is proud to mark 52 years of empowering students through compassionate therapeutic and academic support. For five decades, we have been dedicated to helping young women heal, grow, and succeed in a nurturing environment. We are grateful for the community that has made this journey possible and look forward to continuing our mission for years to come.
